We hope that this will help support you to consider impact as part of the planning of research activity, and to consider impact activity at each stage of the research process. Whilst these categorisations and sequencing may not map directly to your process, it should be possible to identify which research phases are connected to your own, and by exploring them understand how to plan for and integrate impact activity at these stages of the research process.
The key message here is that impact activity is not something that should be conducted at the end of the research process. Impact should be considered up-front and throughout the research process, for better research outcomes and more engaging impact activity.
Most research funders will support impact activity with funding if it is included as part of the initial research funding proposal. This section of the site helps you to begin thinking about integrating impact and research activity, and to identify activity to be included within a funding proposal.
